The TRUTH About Superficially-Porous Particles: Separate Fact From Fiction
Recently, manufacturers of superficially-porous particles claim that these products can provide UPLC-like performance on conventional HPLC systems. The reality is that nearly all chromatographic separations take place on fully-porous particle columns because they offer increased analyte loading capacity; full scalability from UPLC to preparative-scale column sizes; and inorganic-organic hybrid particles capable at working at the extremes of pH. None of this is possible with superficially-porous particle columns. Find out the facts.
