There are multiple circumstances where characterization of a collection of particles has value to analysts. In the case of small-molecule pharmaceuticals, the solid form of the active pharmaceutical ingredient has to be controlled because of its impact on stability, bioavailability, and IP protection. Raman analysis of relatively large areas with sparsely dispersed particles is now integrated with particle statistics. Results of a few studies are shown here.
