Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing & Marketplace Report April 24, 2013

From Cynthia Challener, PhD, Editor, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing & Marketplace Report
Welcome to the fifth edition of the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing & Marketplace Report, a new biweekly newsletter of Pharmaceutical Technology and BioPharm International, and an exclusive feature of the new Pharmaceutical Technology/BioPharm International Marketplace, an online community focused on products and services for drug development and manufacturing. The Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing & Marketplace Report provides insight in five main communities: solid dosage, semisolid, and specialty dosage forms; parenterals; chemical API manufacturing; biologic API manufacturing; and pharmaceutical analysis.

In this issue, with INTERPHEX underway this week, several of our stories focus on equipment advances. Our feature covers mixing and blending equipment for solid and semi-solid dosage forms. You can also learn about visual inspection equipment for parenterals and the use of microreactors for process intensification in chemical manufacturing. Our biologic API  manufacturing story highlights the possibilities of peptoids, while our pharma analysis focus in this issue is on protein analysis, with a spotlight  on capillary-based imaging techniques for protein charge variant analysis.
