Using LC-MS to Study Protein Expression in Crop Development
As the need for improvements in the yield, insect resistance, and abiotic stress tolerance of crop plants continues to increase, Gia C. Fazio and colleagues Wayne Skinner, Zina Dahmani, Yingzhi Lu, and Jean C. Kridl have collaborated on a paper that describes the use of liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) to quantify the expression of levels of a transgenic protein, barley alanine aminotransferase, across multiple rice lines. LCGC’s E-Separation Solutions asked Fazio about her work on the project.
ALEXYS™ Neurotransmitter Analyzers
For superior sensitivity in neurotransmitter analysis, Antec provides dedicated ALEXYS Analyzers based on (U)HPLC with Electrochemical Detection (ECD) for monoamines and metabolites, GABA, Glutamate and Acetylcholine. Different instrument configurations are available to achieve highest sensitivity and/or speed of analysis using less than 10 µL of sample. For monoamines and metabolites a dual-channel HPLC/ECD system has been developed with detection limits as low as 0.2 fmol. Read more
