Do what the patient desires or not?
In a recent article published online in JAMA Internal Medicine (Nov. 27, 2017) researchers evaluated the level of patient satisfaction related to the denial of specific patient requests during the course of an outpatient office visit. Not surprisingly, they found that certain types of denied requests resulted in reduced satisfaction with the healthcare provider.

The recommended use of antihistamines for chronic urticaria have been updated in the most recent installment of treatment guidelines written by a European and American work group.

Chronic urticaria is associated with a low resolution rate in children, but researchers writing in JAMA Dermatology point to biomarkers that may help predict the likelihood of resolution.
