The location of skin lesions can be very telling. Most skin cancers are pathogenetically related to ultraviolet-induced p53 mutations in areas that have the most sun exposure and damage. These areas usually include the head, neck, chest and forearms. Other cancers home to particular and often characteristic skin sites.
