A patient who received laser lipolysis later reported discomfort behind her knee and chest tightness. The covering fellow reassured her that the complaint was likely not related to the procedure. It turned out to be a deep vein thrombosis that resulted in a pulmonary embolism and congestive heart failure. She sues on the basis of "joint venture."
