FDA approves first gene therapy for pediatric leukemia

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the first gene therapy available in the United States, tisagenlecleucel (Kymriah; Novartis), for the treatment of pediatric and young adult patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
