Renal cell cancer (RCC) accounts for nearly 4% of all new cancer cases and 2% of cancer deaths in the United States. Survival prognosis is related to extent of disease at diagnosis. Most patients are diagnosed with localized disease (tumor confined to the primary site), and in this subgroup survival outcomes are quite favorable.

Upon completion of the activity, participants should be able to identify the molecular alterations frequently seen in clear cell RCC in order to develop comprehensive treatment plans; develop individualized treatment plans incorporating biologically targeted agents to improve survival outcomes in patients with RCC; evaluate potential biomarkers predictive of response to antiangiogenic agents in RCC in order to improve patient outcomes. » Go to this activity
