Deadline for ICD-10 comments is May 17

Stakeholders who want to submit comments on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) proposed rule to delay ICD-10 implementation have only a week left to do so

The proposed rule delays the compliance date for switching to ICD-10 from October 1, 2013, to October 1, 2014. The delay and the 30-day comment period on the rule were announced in early April by HHS.

All comments are due to HHS no later than 5 p.m. EST on May 17. Comments may be submitted electronically at regulations.gov, or by mail to: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services Attention: CMS–0040–P, P.O. Box 8013, Baltimore, MD 21244–8013.
