Correction
In the article “REMS for long-acting opioids to require pharmacist certification” (Drug Topics, March 2010, page 29), it was incorrectly reported that Exalgo extended-release tablets, a once-daily formulation of hydromorphone HCl (Covidien and Neuromed Pharmacueticals) that received FDA approval on March 2, needs to be distributed through a restricted distribution network. There are no restrictions on pharmacies or physicians dealing with this drug. Drug Topics regrets the error.
